I've had fabulous results of pain remission with cod liver oil twice a day and avoiding dairy, wheat gluten, caffine and alcohol. The oil seems to lubricate the joints resulting in less wear and inflamation.

I believe in breakfast
Think about this word breakfast breaking the fast of the night
That's how we can maintain the level of sugar in a little more and also keep the weight
Thanks - interesting information

What are your thoughts on milk and calcium supplements? I have read so much conflicting info! Also, do you find an acid/alkaline balance way of eating to be helpful in preventing bone loss? This is what I am talking about... The importance of pH balance in healthy bones
Also, I have read that eating prunes, of all things, helps rebuild bone. Is this true? If so, why?
Thanks!! Look forward to your next post.

I'm taking more vitamin D because there's some evidence that it strengthens the immune system against both seasonal and swine flu. There's more information at the Vitamin D Council website: http://tinyurl.com/ydf5alv. (I have no connection to the council, but as a health journalist, I'm a big fan of vitamin D).

Loperamide (Immodium)is another of those meds also. My 79 yr old mother-in-law got diverticulitis from using to much.
Sorry to hear about that Robert. Is she on another med for her GI problems or does she watch her diet carefully?

Good post, Ruthan. I'm just seeing reports about the problems of liver damage arising from acetaminophen. Interesting, because I had always thought of acetaminophen as a benign OTC medication.

Take advantage of your natural learning booster by believing something is important. If we try to learn without feeling interested, very little of that information will be saved in our memories. When we tell ourselves that what we’re learning is important, our brains join in, triggering our learning circuits.

This is a great article and gives a good overview of each generation. I am a sales manager for Julie LaTerra Homes, a custom home builder in Charlotte and we see so many of each generation as customers and as emplyees. It is so interesting to see the differences and how to bridge the gap so that all of the generations can work together in one environment. It definitely requires understanding and appreciation.
